Speaking and Teaching

I love reading from "The Woods ~ Trails and Tangents" and talking about how many years of walking the same trails shaped these poems. If your book club, library, writing group, or environmental organization wants to talk about poetry and place, I'm in.

The conversations are the best part. People connect with the personal stories behind the poems and the bigger questions about our relationship with nature—especially the environmental changes I've witnessed in these woods. Every audience is different, and that's what makes it fun

Students are often terrified of poetry, so if you need someone to come un-scare-ify it for them—to show them it can be playful, personal, and accessible.

I can help. I can talk about haiku, nature poetry, finding your voice through observation. Tell me what would work for your students.

I'm not a poetry professor, but I have spent many years walking the same trails and writing poetry about what I see. I bring enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine belief that everyone can write poetry when they stop being afraid of it. If that sounds like what your students need, I'm in!
